How we work out heating
How we design a heating system.
Step 01
Survey the house
We measure each room and record the walls, windows, loft and floor insulation and ventilation, along with your existing radiators and pipework.
Step 02
Work out the heat loss
Each room gets its own heat loss figure. Added together, they tell us what the system has to deliver on the coldest days.
Step 03
Design the system
We do the heating design ourselves: flow temperature, radiators, pipe sizes, hot water cylinder and controls. If a radiator needs to change, we'll show you which one and why before you decide.
Step 04
Install and hand over
The system is set up to the design, and we take you through the controls before we leave.
What the survey covers
- Every room measured
- Walls, windows and insulation recorded
- Ventilation checked
- Existing radiators and pipework assessed
- How you use your heating and hot water
What you get at handover
- A system sized to your house's heat loss
- Radiators checked against the design and changed only where needed
- The system set up to the design
- A walk through the controls
- A tidy house, with dust sheets down throughout the job
Heat where you need it
A heating system works best when it's designed around the house and the way you use it. We do that design work ourselves before anything is fitted, so the rooms you use most are the ones that stay warm.
What we do
- New central heating systems
- Radiator replacements and upgrades
- Extra radiators for extensions and cold rooms
- Pipework alterations
- Heating controls and thermostats
Designed in-house
The firm that plans your heating is the firm that fits it. We don't pass the design to someone else, so the layout we draw up is the one we answer for afterwards.
Respect for your home
Heating work can mean lifting floors and working in most rooms of the house. Dust sheets go down, we put things back as we go, and we keep out of your way as much as the job allows.
What our customers say
High quality work for a highly competitive price.
